How you can help in the earthquake disaster that struck Haiti-January 12, 2010
First, we would like everyone to pray for the guidance of the leaders of both Haiti and the organizations that are beginning to assist in the relief and rebuilding efforts. Haiti has been given the rare opportunity to practically start over beginning with, we pray, a firm foundation. The items that we have determined are most needed at the beginning stages of the rebuilding efforts are as follows:
1. Cash donations-it is critical to keep the operations currently on the ground in Haiti fully funded and strong. Right now, we have 272 churches throughout the country that are excellent distribution outlets. You can visit www.missionhaiti.org and locate the “donate” button to give on line. You may also send a check to the following address:

2. Clothes-Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people have lost everything they had and must start from “scratch”. Please send good quality, lite-weight clothing. We need shirts, both long and short pants, underwear, socks and shoes. Tennis shoes will be the most versatile type of shoes although boots and dress-type shoes would be great as well. Please remember: This has affected people of all ages and sizes, from newborn to elderly.
3. Non-perishabe food items. Dried milk, baby formula, canned foods of all type, dried beans, rice, cooking oils, cereals, canned meats, Sardines, Spam, Treet, Peanut Butter and any type of foods that have a long shelf-life.
4. Crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and any type of device that could help someone be mobile who has recently lost a limb.
5. OTC (Over-The-Counter) pain medications as well as antibiotic crèmes and bandages.
6. Bicycles. The fuel supply in Haiti is uncertain and mobility is crucial to the flow of help and information. Contact: Jack or Terry Trantham-864-583-8084, 864-415-0905
Thank you very much for your interest in helping the people in Haiti and thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to lend.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors,
Mission Haiti, Inc.
