I don’t know about you, but I am trying to figure
out what
season it is: winter or spring!! The weather is so nice that
you feel like going outside planting grass or flowers when
it is way too early for that. The weather is so amazing but I
will tell you something better than that, the Lord Jesus is
the One who controls the weather and He knows what He
is doing. The Bible says in Acts 1:7, “And he said unto
them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons,
which the Father hath put in His own power.”
The month of January was filled with blessings here at
Fairview with Chase Forbes coming forth and making
public God’s call upon him to preach the gospel. He
preached his first sermon, and what a great job he did,
Sunday night, January 29th. The saw the blessings of
Sunday school in that the number in attendance climbed
the whole month to the last Sunday when we had 192 in
attendance. Praise the Lord!!
On a personal note, it came with sadness in my
heart (and
yours, too), when Brother Buddy felt he needed to resign
his position as Associate Pastor of Youth and Family. Even
though we are all excited about his stepping out to have
the opportunity to preach in other pulpits and to
eventually pastor his own flock, we will miss them very
much. There will be a fellowship Sunday, February 5th,
after the evening service to honor Buddy, Debbie, Tim, &
Kelly. Let us pray for them as we know God will use them
in a mighty way now and in the years to come.
I want to encourage you to be faithful as we go
into
February and don’t forget our trial run concerning the
changes in our service times with Sunday School @ 9:30
AM and Worship @ 10:30 AM.
Fairview, we are going forward for the glory of God. Let’s
stay excited and give Him the glory for all He is doing
through us and for us at Fairview Baptist Church.
Serving Him Together,
Preacher Ty
